Our group transitioned from short-term visualization production to a long-term tool development and firm-wide innovation department. R&D to the core. Brainstorm new ideas in an open environment, approach problems from different backgrounds, work as a team to come up with solutions from a wide variety of angles. Lots of time spent embedded with our LiDAR team, developing new methods of effectively utilizing calibrated imagery and using my visualization expertise to explore new possibilities with point clouds.

I began my time at HNTB as a team member in the corporate 3D Visualization group at the national headquarters of HNTB. I worked on a wide variety of projects: bridges, highways, interchanges, construction sequencing, etc. Our small group definitely pushed the envelope of what it meant to do 3D vis on the civil side, and we had lots of fun doing it!
